Facility in Jumilla

Jumilla´s plant was built at the beginning of the 1970s, when the winery founded in 1890 was moved from the centre of the town to the outsides of Jumilla.

It was here where we installed our first high speed bottling line (18.000 bottles/ hour) and it was in Jumilla in 1945 where we created the brand “Castillo San Simon”, a wine that comes from the vineyards of the Family.

In the 1980s, we launched Don Simon wine, followed by juices, must, and sangria in the 1990s, all under the Don Simon brand. In 1995, the plant expanded to produce refrigerated squeezed juices and gazpacho from Andalucia, also branded Don Simon.

Though the Jumilla plant is the oldest, it has been modernized and expanded, with its own R&D center. It primarily exports to African markets due to its proximity to the port of Valencia.

Certified with ISO 9001:2000 since 1995, the plant now operates under ISO 9001:2008 standards and holds BRC and IFS certifications for quality management.

Environmentally, Jumilla minimizes water and energy use, reduces emissions, and controls waste and noise. The plant follows strict environmental regulations and uses natural gas, a clean energy source, for steam generation. Additionally, photovoltaic solar panels on the roof generate up to 700kW of clean energy.
